By way of a revealing tagline, MGM has unoffially announced that their upcoming RoboCop movie will be a sequel, not a remake. They are close to finalizing a deal with director Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream), the man who had previously been considered to rework the Batman franchise...

MGM and Phoenix Pictures are planning for a 2010 release date for the latest RoboCop. What do we know so far?

"Present day Los Angeles, 20 years after the termination of the RoboCop program, the city decides to reinstate the program."
