This week's Sci Fi STUD of the Week is:Nic Cage "To be a good actor you have to be something like a criminal, to be willing to break the rules to strive for something new."
This week's Sci Fi Stud is the prolific actor Nicholas Cage. This half-Italian, half-German hunk was born in Longbeach, California in 1964. A sci-fi and thriller legend, he has appeared in City of Angels, Vampire's Kiss, National Treasure, Face/Off, The Wicker Man, and The Ant Bully. He's also the executive producer of Sci Fi Channel's The Dresden Files. His most recent gig was the role of Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider - and he kept the screen HOT even when the flames weren't on! You can catch him soon in Grindhouse, where he and Sci Fi Hottie Rose McGowan are sure to leave us begging for more.
Born a Coppola, he changed his name to Cage early in his career as an opportunity to use his own skill and talent, rather than relying on the big-name power of his family; he settled on the name Cage as an homage to early comic hero Luke Cage. Looks like he made a wise decision - His first big role in 1983's Valley Girl earned him a paltry $5,000, but for 2004's National Treasure he received a whopping $20 million!
