Warners Considering New Script for 'Green Arrow' Film

David S. Goyer revealed that he's shopping a script to Warner Brothers for a new take on 'Green Arrow,' and so far they seem to be sold on his idea. 'Super Max' offers a new twist to the superhero storyline: the film would open with Green Arrow stuck in a prison full of supervillains,.. found guilty of crimes he didn't commit and forced to team up with his old enemies in order to escape and clear his name.

Goyer told interviewers that Warner Brothers was very interested in any type of Green Arrow film, and "they seem to be interested in moving forward" with his idea. He originally thought up the storyline "as a supervillain-escape idea, and the idea was, well, we can either go Marvel or DC. And I talked to both of them, and I kind of said, 'Well, who can you give me?' ... For my money it was, if we went Marvel, it would be Captain America. If we went DC, maybe Green Arrow. And Green Arrow seemed like the best fit."

While Spider-Man and Superman are practically a given to draw in the profits, studios had remained skeptical that second-string heroes like Green Arrow could pack theaters. But, given the $300 million success of Iron Man, we're sure to see plenty of these type of movies coming out over the next few years.

Green Arrow should be a comedy-action film that doesn't take it self too seriously, Simon Pegg should play the Green Arrow, and it should be an origin story. With the Bruce Wayne-like billonarire playboy crash landing on an island to fend for himself like Tom Hanks in Cast-Away, I would laugh for an hour and half to see Pegg do that, with a beard like moses. Coming back to reality to find the injustice in world and picking up a bow and arrow to fight for justice, with Shawn of Dead-Hot Fuzz style blood effects!
