'Smith' Pilot In Search of New Home after ABC Passes

ABC has passed on the small-screen version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. While the action-packed story of married assassins on opposing sides wowed theater-going audiences two years ago, the television adaptation failed to impress studio big wigs earlier this week. However, due to a contract clause included by producers Regency TV and Dutch Oven, they now have the opportunity to shop the show around to other networks. In a good note for the show, the pilot episode was written and directed by Simon Kinberg and Doug Liman, the same men behind the feature film... They plan to stay on board in some capacity if the series goes into production. Jordana Brewster and Martin Henderson have been cast in the lead roles.
