Steve Sansweet, head of Lucasfilm Fan Relations, confirmed that two Star Wars television series are currently in development. Star Wars: Clone Wars is a CG animated show which is hoping to find a network home sometime next year. Sansweet described it as "more adult. It has a lot of humor in it. It is very cinematic." The other is being kept under tight wraps, however, he did reveal that George Lucas and Rick McCullam were starting work on the live-action drama, which should be ready to air by 2010. While there's no official word on what the series will be about,...
rumors suggest that it will focus on bridging the gap between the original films and the recent prequels. Sansweet also confirmed that there are NO plans to make a set of TV movies based on the franchise - which is, I think, a smart decision on their part, not to cheapen the franchise by releasing TV movies.
