Warner Bros unveiled an extended TV spot for Green Lantern Friday Night showing new footage from the movie. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, and Mark Strong, Take the jump to check it out.

Nothing to get excited about folks Warner Brothers has released a couple of new images for the Green Lantern movie, but they are just screen grabs from the trailer that was released at the first of the month, however seeing an image of Ryan Reynolds wielding a laser chain gun is still pretty cool. This concept art of Sinestro is making it look like the Green Lantern movie will be awesome.

In a interview with MTV News, director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) was asked to confirm if Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, A Nightmare on Elm Street) will star as the villainous Sinestro in the Green Lantern movie. Here is what he had to say:

Since Green Lantern has now got the official greenlight and it's only ten weeks out from the production start up, Warner Bros has finale revealed that Gossip Girl Blake Lively will play the female lead opposite Ryan Reynolds.

As you know we've been reporting about the Green Lantern movie for a while, well finale Warner Bros has given the superhero project (no pun intended) the green light.

Green Lantern effects supervisor Karen Goulekas (The Day After Tomorrow, Spider-Man) updated her blog with a message that said: "Green Lantern got the official green light today! And not a second too soon - only 10 weeks out from shooting! While it's great news we are a go - now we have to actually get our prep done in 10 weeks! But we have an amazing crew - so we will make it happen!"

We have been waiting forever and a coon's age to find out who will star in the upcoming 'Green Lantern' movie, besides just Ryan Reynolds, well director Martin Campbell has been quietly putting together an amazing behind the scenes crew to bring the character to the big screen.

Y'all can just go ahead and slap me, I was so busy drooling over Smallville's Lois Lane (Erica Durance) that I totally forgot to post the trailer and the article about the storyline trailer that is leading up to the upcoming Smallville two hour movie.
