There has been lots of talk and chatter since Star Trek hit theaters and later was released on DVD about a sequel. Well Paramount Pictures has unveiled that Star Trek 2 will be released in theaters on June 29th, 2012.
Awhile back we reported that James Cameron had someone create an entirely new language for the 'Avatar' film. The new language was used in the movie by the Na'vi (the blue folks with the tails) on several occasions to say such things as "hey listen" and "you like baby."
Patrick Stewart best known to us in the SciFi world for playing Capt. Jean-Luc Picard on 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies will be adding a new tittle to his name as he is to receive a knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II. It means he will now be known in England as "Sir Patrick."
And folks say that Sci-Fi is dying out, well as they say proof is in the pudding and it seems that Sci-Fi and Fantasy is very much alive. Sci-Fi fans have been hard at work making sure that Sci-Fi and Fantasy films are available to all in the format of downloading off the internet. Paramount COO Frederick Huntsberry back in October delivered a presentation about how 'Star Trek' had become a hot commodity in piracy circles, adding that illegal file-sharing has become more wide-spread and was not just for the "geeks" any more.
Apparently there are some real dumb asses out there and it seems that some trekkies are falling into that group. The AP ran a article comparing President Obama to none other than Star Trek's Mr. Spock and saying that President Obama and Spock are very similar. Even the original Spock, Leonard Nimoy, and Star Trek co-writer Roberto Orci chimed in their 2 cents to agree with the analysis.

Also Paramount Pictures and the IMAX Corporation has announced that Star Trek, directed by J.J. Abrams ("Mission: Impossible III", "Lost" and "Alias”), will be simultaneously released to both IMAX and conventional theatres worldwide on May 8, 2009.
