So far we don't have a confirmed on the airdate, but we do know that Metallo will be back on this season's 18th episode, which will air sometime in the Spring.
"Official word from Fox: 'We will air all 13 episodes and this gives Joss the opportunity to end in a significant way'," said Variety's Michael Schneider via Twitter.
I hate it for Joss Whedon but he should have had a more active role in the series than just slapping his name on it. Since April, "24" has been in continuous production on the new season and the two-hour prequel "24: Redemption," which is scheduled to air November 23rd.

Tomokazu Miura (ALWAYS Sanchoume no Yuuhi), Yoshino Kimura (Shota no Sushi), Shuya Isaka, and Dai Watanabe will also star in the film. The Japanese Ministry of Defense, Air Self-Defence Force, and Maritime Self-Defense Force are participating in the project, so real UH-60J helicopters, F-15 fighters, and escort vessels will appear in the film. Filming began on July 7, and the movie will open in Japan in December 2009.
