John Barrowman Confirms New Torchwood Season

With the dramatic endings of season three as well as 'Children of Earth,'  which aired on BBC America back in the spring in which we lost several Torchwood members, it's unclear exactly how Davies is going to revive the Torchwood organization. Captain Jack Harkness (Barrowman) himself had a dramatic departure, so it's pretty much a given that there will be a very dramatic return.

No official production date has been set for the return of the series, but creator Russell T Davies previously indicated he expected it to get started early in 2010.

Barrowman also told the programme that there were no current plans for Captain Jack Harkness to encounter the 11th Doctor, played by Matt Smith, who takes over the title role in Doctor Who from David Tennant in the New Year's Day special, The End of Time, Part 2.

‘True Blood’ Season Three Newbies

First we have actress Shannon Lucio, who played Lindsay on 'The O.C.', she has been cast as Bill's wife Caroline, remember she's the one he didn't return to after being turned into a vampire during the Civil War. We have seen this character back in season one, and no this defiantly isn't the same actress. Apparently Caroline is a crucial factor for this season.

Next we have Marshall Allman who played LJ on 'Prison Break', has grabbed the role of Tommy, none oyher than Sam's younger brother. Year three be will delving very heavily into the Merlotte's family tree, and we should be getting some info on casting news for Sam's mother and father pretty soon.

Shannon Lucio Marshall Allman

I'm not so sure about these two newbies, but 'True Blood' has astounded us so far with their cast picks so hopefully they have made the right decision again, if not I'm sure they can be drained pretty quickly. As new info arises we will let you know.

Why Genre Shows are Dying! Part 1

First off Hinman failed to mention any show that is on the SyFy Channel. Why is that Mikey? I'm starting to wonder about you boy. Now on with my rant on the subject at hand. Knight Rider, any true Sci-Fi fan knew that this show was doomed from the first 10 minutes of the pilot, I knuckled down and watched 4 episodes even though it made me want to puke my guts out in the new KIT the whole time I was watching, till I just couldn't take anymore. Pushing Daisies was a cute show and I watched it for the whole first season, but cuteness wears out quick, babies are cute too, but just think about one with a real humdinger of a stinky diaper, enough said there. By year two I would catch it at some point, some times months after the episode aired on the DVR. As for TSCC, season one was awesome, it was kicking much ass up to the season two premier,  and it was downhill from then on out, bad acting, bad storylines, even the way they would put the scenes together just sucked.

Fox's "Dollhouse," a sci-fi show that was suppose to be geared for the female gender. Ummm, how did that work out, it failed just as I knew it would. No offense intended ladies, but there just aren't enough true sci-fi fans of the fairer sex to sustain a TV series on the public air waves at this time. For most of us guys it just turned our stomachs inside out. I have a strong feeling that the up coming SyFy Channel's "Battlestar Galactica" spinoff series "Caprica" will turn out the same way as Dollhouse.

We also lost two series that was on the ABC Family Channel that very few talk about  when addressing  Genre ratings, the sad part is they were both good series. "Kyle XY" and  "The Middleman" where both excellent shows and in my opinion if they where on ABC's public air channels they would have survived and been here today gearing for a new season. We also lost "Stargate Atlantis" that was on none other than the SyFy Channel, not many talking about it either. The biggest problem with Atlantis was the constant change in Characters, also by the third season the storylines was getting very dull. And last but not least of shows we lost was the USA Networks "4400" series. Great show overall, but issues with some of the actors and storylines going dry helped lead this show to it demise.

As for existing shows, the CW's "Smallville" was moved from it's Thursday night slot to Friday night, so they could make room for another show geared for the ladies called the "Vampire Diaries." Smallville took a big hit in the ratings due to the move but it now seems the show ratings are climbing back up and it's fair to say that we will get at least one more season of Smallville, and yes the show is kicking more ass than normal so make sure to tune in, no matter what time slot it's in. As for Vampire Diaries, it's ratings are good, but it is not no where as popular as Smallville was when it was in that time slot, and the new series has hurt "Supernatural" in the ratings. As for Supernatural, if any of you have been watching lately can see that even the Winchester boy's are growing tired of the series and I suspect we will being the departure of Sam and Dean at the end of this season even if the series is renewed, which I doubt will happen.

Now for the big dogs. "Lost" is fixen to start it's finale season. Last season the episodes had gotten better than the two previous seasons, but it was to late, most folks had already moved on and wasn't willing to give LOST another chance. Heroes, will more than likely be renewed for a new season and yes the episodes have gotten better but I think it's to late and like LOST, the viewers they lost won't give Heroes a another chance and it's ratings will never be as high as they were before."V", to be honest it's to early for me to predict, but so far this new series is on the right track and I give it a A rating in all areas. "Flash Forward" I feel will flash out by the end of it's first season.

Tune in tomorrow and I'll cover more on TV series not mentioned in this article and give you the real scoop on whats wrong with most of the genre shows today and why they are dying. Till then just remember "It's all about the Sci-Fi Baby!!"

Major spoilers for the rest of Fringe’s 2nd season!

Do we meet the alternate-universe versions of Walter (John Noble)? Olivia (Anna Torv)?

Fringe_torv_dreamlogic.jpg

We've already seen alt-universe versions of Broyles (Lance Reddick) and Charlie (Kirk Acevedo), and we know Peter (Joshua Jackson) comes from the other side. But what about alt-Olivia or alt-Walter (or "Walternate," as Jackson calls him)?

"I have that question as well," Torv tells us. "I'm hoping that there is [an alt-Olivia]. But then I don't know … which I would prefer if she ends up coming. I don't know if I would prefer her to be just, like, fractionally off. … I would love to see … she's completely, you know, 180 [degrees different]. … My pitch would be, and I think that's what a lot of people are saying, too, … with the discovery of the fact that the Peter here is clearly not from here, then it makes sense that maybe the Walter over there is angry with the Walter here, and that's kind of the whole thing behind [the Pattern]. But I don't know. They do sometimes surprise. Sometimes they put these clues in and then they flip it on its head and you've been wrong all along. But that's where I'm going."

Jackson is convinced we will see the "Walternate." "In keeping with the mythology of Fringe, yes, there is a Walternate, and there would be … an alternate mother as well, because, you know, that dimension is so close to our own, that with only minor differences it is identical," he said.

Is the Walternate angry that his version of Peter was stolen, and is he really behind the Pattern events? Will he confront our Walter?

Fringe_noble_walter_vancouver.jpg

"He's going to be awfully angry," Noble says. "That's my summation. We've sort of hinted this, haven't we? We've had little hints of other Walters around the place, and you'll see that. My guess would be that there has to be a confrontation between the two men. That's not the writers again, this is just me projecting forward."

Will Peter discover that he's from the other side?

Fringe_jackson_noble_vancouver.jpg

Jackson feels the answer is yes.

"The big [question] that gets raised is, when he finds out the truth about his origins, where do his loyalties lie?" Jackson said. "I truly am excited to play it either way. Maybe the decision's been made—they haven't told me—but I think it's just as interesting to have Peter freak out, have his moment outside the flock, and then come back and say, 'I forgive you, but this is where I belong.' And I also think it's quite interesting to have him freak out and say, 'No, burn it all down,' and have Peter actually become some version of the bad guy going into season three."

Will Olivia meet and confront the Observer?

Fringe_Cerveris_observer_vancouver.jpg

Yes. "There's an episode coming up that is called 'August,' and it sort of deals with the Observer," Torv says. "It's a really, really beautiful, beautiful episode, actually, so I won't say anything more, but that's actually very soon. Yeah."

Will Walter confront his old partner, William Bell (Leonard Nimoy)?

Count on it.

"We've introduced William Bell as a major player now, and Leonard's been back a couple of times," Noble says, revealing: "I did a lovely scene with him the other day. A very interesting scene which I'm not going to tell you about, but it was amazing. What it revealed. The revelation in that was shocking. It was shocking to me when I read it."

Noble adds: "What we're dealing with is, we've been told that there's a breach, that there will have to be a repercussion for this breach. And so as we build through now, we're coming towards what they're calling a war. … [If you] break the laws of nature, you will pay. That's going to happen. So we'll build through season two up to that point. In the meantime, we'll continue to do stories that are interesting, and we've done some, I think some of our very, very best scripts. Last, this year, we've done some amazing [things]. Just what we've been shooting for the last five episodes is extraordinary."
