Sci Fi Channel gets ‘Mutant Chronicles’ and ‘100 Feet’

"The Mutant Chronicles" is set in the 23rd Century when a group of corporations have destroyed the world’s resources. An underworld army of demonic Necromutants is warring with the last remaining humans.

In "100 Feet," Marnie Watson kills her abusive husband in self-defense, and as a result, she is condemned to house arrest for three years. What she quickly learns is that the house is possessed by the enraged and violent spirit of her dead husband.

"This is tragic, and the film deserved better," said the "100 Feet" director. "There were two domestic theatrical distribution offers on ‘100 Feet,’ including Magnolia. Ghost House also really wanted to take the picture. A Sci Fi Channel release down the line is great — it’s a fine network — but this film deserves a commercial shot in the theaters."

Fringe Gets a Full Season

"We’re having a blast working on this show with this great team of producers and amazing cast," said FOX head Kevin Reilly. "The series has really taken off creatively, and it’s exciting to see that the audience is responding. We believe this is the first full season of many years to come."

It should be noted that JJ Abrams movies have been based on TV properties and one (Cloverfield) didn’t do so good at Theaters. The other (Star Trek) we are still waiting to see how it turns out.

Bryan Fuller Talks New Star Trek Series

After the demise of Enterprise, the franchise went on a bit of a break and a of a shake up. Now that JJ Abrams is revitalizing Star Trek with a new movie, that relaunches the franchise with new actors playing Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock. Questions immediately arose about whether Paramount would sieze the opertunity to make a new Star Trek series.

Bryan Fuller, creator and executive producer of ABC’s hit series Pushing Daisies, as well as a former producer of Star Trek: Voyager, told MTV.com "I would love to do another Star Trek series." Fuller, who was also a writer and producer on Heroes during the first season, elaborated that the Star Trek he would create would be "One where you could go back to the spirit and color of the original Star Trek, because somehow, it got cold over the years. I love Next Generation,’ but it’s a little cooler and calmer than the ones from the ’60s, which were so dynamic and passionate."

Fuller went on to say "Star Trek’ has to recreate itself. Otherwise, all the characters start to feel the same. You always have a captain, a doctor, a security officer, and you have the same arguments based on those perspectives. It starts to feel too familiar. So all those paradigms where it takes place on a starship have to be shaken up."
