She’s already scheduled for a three-episode guest spot on Torchwood, and will likely return for another three-episode storyline on Doctor Who. Though Agyeman’s character left in the third season finale, the door has been left open for her to make a reappearance at any time; however, it’s being called “highly unlikely” that she’ll be invited to return to the franchise after her contract is up.
Executive producer Russell T. Davies called Tate “an absolute star” and said he was “delighted that one of Britain’s greatest talents has agreed to join us for the fourth [season]. . . Viewers can expect more ambitious storylines and a whole host of guest stars in 2008.” Tate, meanwhile, said she was “delighted to be returning to Doctor Who. I had a blast last Christmas and look forward to traveling again through time and space with that nice man from Gallifrey.”
